With passenger numbers expected to pass the nine million mark for the first time in 2019, planning approval is being sought to raise the current cap from 10 to 12 million passengers a year.
The proposed development includes new infrastructure, improvements to existing facilities and operational changes to ensure the airport can continue to meet demand for air travel to and from the South West well into the next decade.
Merlango joined Bristol Airports project to deliver 12 million passengers per annum in 2018 to consult on a ground side fuel & valet centre as part of the car rental consolidation centre (CRCC).
The works have been delivered in two construction phases with the CRCC valet & wash centre delivered in November 2019 as the first phase of construction.
The second phase of construction for the CRCC to deliver the fuel installation is schedule for 2020.
